The Remediators Toolbox
The Remediators toolbox is a collection various little programs that we have found helpful in preparing for concerts. All the tools (along with their accompanying tutorials) are located here. Currently the toolbox consists of three programs:
CreatePartAssignments - This tool automatically creates the part assignments for a gig or test session, using as input a folder of ABC files, a text file that describes the musicians and their instruments, and a text file that describes who is singing what songs. WARNING: the CreatePartAssignments tool is still pretty quirky and not easy to use; I plan on updating it soon so that people other than myself can use it more easily. The other two tools (FormatLyrics and ABC_Editor) are much more "done" and stable.
FormatLyrics - This tool adds special characters like (~ or •) to each line of text in a lyric file, to make them stand out a bit better from the general chatter at a concert.
ABC_Editor - This tool allows you to edit the dynamics (sound level) of an instrument in an ABC file for a selected set of bars in the song. This can be useful if the instrument seems too loud or too soft for only parts of the song (that is, in cases where simply raising or lowering the volume of instrument for the entire song doesn't solve the issue).
